Meet Jocelyn

Jocelyn Hsu

Clinical Social Worker, MSW, BSW, RSW

Nice to meet you here. I am the counsellor and owner of Gentle Light Counselling. I immigrated from Taiwan in 2009 and has been rooted here in Canada ever since. I am fluent in both English and Mandarin and have worked with clients in Taiwan for 3 years and clients in Toronto for over 11 years (at Children’s Aid Society of Toronto).

I hold a dual bachelor degrees in Philosophy (with focus on Ethics) and Social Work (with focus on children and families). I also hold a master degree with thesis (with focus on children, adolescents, families and mental health).

I am a registered social worker in Ontario and have more than 17 years of experience of working with children, youth, couple, and families in clinical settings. It has always been my passion to support clients facing different challenges in life.

I believe in the power of talk therapy and strengths within oneself. I listen and would work with you to reach your goals so you can regain the calmness and happiness in life.

I am open-minded and non-judgmental. I am also comfortable of being vulnerable myself. Being gentle and respectful, I am determined to sort out your thoughts with you and provide you a safe space to recover.

Gentle Light Counselling was built as I believe in the inner power, and the light in everyone. I also know how hard life could be sometimes , and how that we all need some help. Yes, you and me both!

We all need that gentle light.
